Biography

I am a native Oregonian who has lived in the Clackamas area since childhood. A second generation mason contractor, but have now taken on most facets of residential construction. I first learned welding and metal work for the utilitarian purposes of fixing equipment and fabricating items, like fireplace parts, wrought iron handrails, and gates for construction jobs.

My artistic pursuits include photography, painting, woodworking, and sculpting with stone, metal, and concrete.

Artist's Statement

The reasons I enjoy making art, and the intention of the art I make, vary from day to day, project to project and with the media I use.

I like to capture realistic beauty or detail from a scene that may have been overlooked and make it the focus or take something real and make it into something surreal that could not be seen without my work.

I never know what will inspire me next or what type of artwork I will be inspired to do.
